The Sherp sifted through a diverse line-up of three years to bring you the best of NH7

Pune has been a fortunate lot as far as music is concerned! The NH7 Weekender decided to start off with the basic idea of bringing together music lovers of various genres in this city comprising of a dynamic youth. It is organized by Only Much Louder, a management company that promotes indie music in India. The festival has successfully completed three years, with each year being more massive than the last.

Here’s The Sherp’s pick of 10 outstanding international acts that have played over the years at the Weekenders:

 

Imogen Heap

This much-loved UK born Grammy winner is not only a singer, song-writer and composer but also a multi-instrumentalist. She performed on The Dewarists Stage in 2011 in Pune. She’s currently recording for her fourth solo album. Her collaboration with Vishal-Shekhar titled β€œMinds Without Fear” on the show, The Dewarists, is still loved everyone who’s heard it!

Periphery

Progressive metal all the way from Maryland was banging the stage at Bengaluru in 2012! The band is currently working on their third album β€˜Juggernaut’. They are on the forefront of the β€œdjent” movement utilizing sounds that push the boundaries of progressive metal.

Fink

Fin Greenal, better known as Fink, possesses a gamut of talent! Singer, songwriter, guitarist, producer and DJ from England, he co-wrote a song with the legendary Amy Winehouse titled β€œHalf Time”. He performed in 2012 at Bengaluru.

Idan Raichel Project

Known for his gypsy appearance, this musician from Israel indulges in a fusion of electronics and Ethopian music. His performance was seen at the Bangalore Weekender at in 2012.

Bauchklang

In 2012, the Bangalore Weekender saw some kickass beatboxing on stage. The Austrian group consists of five members who bring out a unique mixture of human beatboxing, mouth-percussions and vocal sounds!

Ziggi Recado

From the home of trance, this guy offers some spectacular reggae to our ears! The singer from Netherlands is an outstanding performer who played for Bangalore at the Pepsi Dub Station in 2012.

Karnivool

Adored by all, the Australian progressive rock band was developed from a high school band in 1997. They had the Pune crowd head-banging to the sound of their guitars and drums in 2012.

The Aston Shuffle

The house music duo from Australia was seen playing in Pune in 2012. They rose to prominence with the remix of the track β€˜Sunrise’ by Tommy Trash.

Michal Menert

Member of the Pretty Lights Music label, Michal is an electronic music producer. The Colorado DJ, who played in 2012, had the Eristoff Wolves Den in Pune grooving to his tunes.

The Magic Numbers

In the first year of NH7 Weekender, Pune witnessed this English pop rock band. Comprising two pairs of brothers and sisters, the band has worked on three studio albums and single hits like β€œForever Lost” and β€œLove Me Like You”.
