Don’t let the heat keep you from being hot!

We’ve all been there. You’re scrolling through your newsfeed or flipping through Instagram and you find your vision plagued by idyllic pictures of gorgeous women with perfect hair and perfect makeup, standing in the scorching heat of this festival or that, grinning in an effortless manner that makes you wonder, how are you even human? The last time you got all dolled up for a festival, you returned to your bed with more sweat on your face than foundation, and more often than not, a damp beehive of smelly hair upon your head.

To all the music and makeup lovers out there, we feel your pain, and we’re here to help. Here’s some helpful advice we wish someone had told us about sooner!

1. Wear A Light Sunscreen

Festivals are synonymous with hours of standing underneath a scorching sun. The damage caused by overexposure to the sun’s rays can be immensely damaging to the skin, causing wrinkles and even cancer. We recommend wearing lots of sunblock with a high concentration of SPF. There are many lightweight options to choose from, to avoid greasiness and keep your skin protected.

2. Dry Shampoo

A can of dry shampoo can go a long way at a festival. To keep your hair from sticking flat and lifelessly to your skull, spray your roots with a lightweight dry shampoo to revitalize and bring back a little of your hair’s natural allure.

3. Wet Wipes

Wet wipes can be a blessing in a festival environment. Wipe away your sweat-smudged makeup for a fresher look and keep your skin feeling healthy and fresh until the end of the day. Go for wipes that do not contain alcohol, as these can dry your already sun-exposed and vulnerable skin out.

4. Sanitizer

Festivals can be messy. More often than not, you will find yourself shaking hands and exchanging embraces with total strangers, or laying on the muddy grassy field to catch your breath. A little sanitizer can go a long way in helping you feel clean and fresh at a crowded festival.

As the day wears on and the sun rises higher in the sky, we women undoubtedly find our necks slick with sweat, our hair dampened with sweat and practically radiating heat! An easy solution to this problem is braiding. Braids are a surefire way to keep your hair looking neat and orderly while also cooling off a little.

6.Shades and Lipgloss

The easiest, foolproof look for festivals, a large pair of dark shades block out the harsh sun and add to your outfit without overdoing it. A dab of lip gloss keeps you looking natural and fresh, and balances your outfit out without needing a constant touch up.
