The festival named ‘Diaspora Calling!’ is an effort by Lauryn Hill in association with TIDAL to showcase African culture and art.

In an effort to promote African artists, Lauryn Hill has partnered with the streaming service TIDAL to organize a festival named ‘Diaspora Calling!’Β The three day festival will “present a series of events, focusing on various forms of visual art, and featuring performances by artists from Africa, and throughout the African diaspora.” Artists like LaurynΒ Hill herself, Machel Montano (Trinidad), Stephen “Ragga” Marley (Jamaica), Stonebwoy (Ghana) and more will perform at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn from April 13 to 15.

Hill will introduce the gallery at a private opening with music from DJ Spinna and DJ Juls among others. The gallery will be open to the public on April 14-15 from noon to 4 p.m. Friday’s event will be livestreamed, pre-paywall, via TIDAL.
