Beautiful Day” is a song by Irish rock band U2 for the album – All That You Can’t Leave Behind. It was a huge commercial success, helping launch the album to multi-platinum status, and is U2’s biggest hit to date. “Beautiful Day” exploded onto radio in late 2000 and it won them a Grammy for Song of the Year.

The Irish Rock Band went on to make their debut at the premier festival – Glastonbury on June 24th, 2011. Before ‘Beautiful Day’ the video screens played a message from astronaut Mark Kelly, whose “Hello Glastonbury” greeting was met with loud cheers. Kelly held up a series of floating letters to spell out a message, including the words “It’s a beautiful day,” while floating inside the International Space Station. He finished his message with a line from David Bowie’s song “Space Oddity:” “I’m looking forward to coming home. Tell my wife I love her very much. She knows.”

This is easily one of the best live performances of the song ever. Check out the video below!
