Pop artist Avanti returns with new single and music video, “The Long Way.” Shot virtually during quarantine across India, Vietnam, and America, the music video mirrors the lives of three couples overcoming adversity during the largest pandemic in the 20th century. Released earlier this week, the anthemic song is dedicated to staying in love despite the distance.

Celebrating diversity, the video follows Avanti and her partner Stephen, who have dealt with interracial stigma and long distance between Bombay, Boston, and Vietnam. Alongside them are Philadelphia-based Kerry-Anne and Mike, who navigated COVID-19 exposure fighting the pandemic. The couple recently went viral when joining BLM protests with fists of solidarity after their wedding. Also in the video are New Jersey-based Amit and Aditya, who are creative directors, dancers, and content creators. The duo have continued to challenge socio-culture norms and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community through art.

“’Going The Long Way for love means facing backlash from your family/friends/community, sometimes it means dealing with distance or a pandemic, but every single time it means fighting for it” – Avanti

“The Long Way” is produced by Austin Armstrong, mastered by Bhushan Govikar, and is co-written by songwriter Natania, known for her work with the likes of Jesse McCartney, Armaan Malik, Prime Video and more.
