Boom is muchย more than a just a music festival and more of a crazy adventure in the middle of nowhere, in a beautiful lost place, in a beautiful Iberian region known to us as Portugal.
It’s is a festival dedicated to the free spirits from all over the world. It is the gathering of the global psychedelic tribe and of whoever feels the call to join in the celebrations. A week long unpredictable and unforgettable adventure, it takes place every two years during August Full Moon (4th – 11th August) on the shores of a magnificent lake in the sunny Portuguese inland and every one is invited.
Having started back in 1997 with just one stage and a chill out zone, Boom is now made up of five main music arenas situated around the idyllic Idhana a Nova lake in eastern Portugal. Each of these stages showcases a different element of the psychedelic music genre, and although you may not recognise many of the artists performing at the festival, the standard of music and performance is second to none.

The atmosphere at Boom is untouchable, the organizers do an incredible job of creating an experience to be shared by the thousands of people who attend.
Boom Festival is a very different event compared to other festivals, and may open your eyes to a whole sub-culture that you have not experienced. Whilst it may not be for everyone, those who do enjoy it are likely to come back year after year, the experience can not be replicated anywhere else.
