Everyone’s favourite mother-daughter show is back as a festival and we cannot deal with it!
The sold-out Gilmore Girls Fan Festival will take place on Oct 21st through Oct 23rd in the Washington Depot. “Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said she was inspired in Connecticut, the town that inspired Stars Hollow, the charming fictional hometown of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore. But the best part is that it’s been organised by the fans!
Tickets to the festival, priced at $175 for general admission, were sold out within 12 hours after they were released on Wednesday morning, with buyers hailing from as far away as Brazil, Ireland, Germany and Canada. A limited amount of additional tickets were released later and sold out in minutes.
The festival will host a ton of activities like coffee at the hardware store, a Friday-night dinner, tea at the inn, a cake tasting at the market, and a staged knit-a-thon. Many cast members, including Jackson Douglas (Jackson), Rini Bell (Lulu), Aris Alvarado (Caesar), Biff Yeager (Tom), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Yanic Truesdale (Michel), Vanessa Marano (April) and Ted Rooney (Morey) have been confirmed to attend. The show aired for seven years and the festival comes a month before Netflix releases a new four-part “Gilmore Girls” revival season in November.
