The World No.1 DJ will be performing at TIMEOUT 72, Goa, on the final day, 29th December.
Dutch DJ/Producer and the world’s most sensational electronic music icon, Martin Garrix will be making his way to India to headline the final day of the much-awaited debut of TIMEOUT 72 in Goa. Joined by international Hip-Hop and Pop tycoons, Wiz Khalifa and Jason Derulo as headliners at the festival across the three days, the return of Martin Garrix in India is something his fans are way too excited about! Speaking about his comeback to India, Martin Garrix had this to say – ”I love India and it’s always an honor to play here. I’m bringing the new production over to you guys and I’m looking forward to having a big party with everyone there!”
Q- How does it feel coming to India? What do you like the most about the country?
A- ”I always love going to India. This place has so much energy and loyal fans. Every time I do a show the whole crowd goes crazy, and I love that vibe.”
Q- 2017 is ending. How has the year been? A round-up of all the exciting stuff you did and what 2018 looks like — at least the first few months?
A- ”I’ve experienced so many amazing things again this year. First off we’ve had a crazy festival season with shows like Coachella, Lollapalooza, Ultra, and Tomorrowland. I of course had my two amazing residencies in Ibiza at Hï and Ushuaïa and my Las Vegas residency at Omnia. Another great moment for me this year was playing two sold-out nights in the Amsterdam RAI during ADE again.”
Martin Garrix has transformed electronic music over the years and has even been crowned No.1 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs two years in a row (2016 & 2017). The Dutch DJ is only all of 21 years old and has had a phenomenal journey so far. Speaking about his journey up to this point, he had the following things to say:
Q- You once said that you can’t work with someone you don’t connect with. On what level is the ‘connection’? Good musician, professionalism, good human being or something else?
A- ”I think it’s a combination of all of that. When you have this great connection in the studio it’s almost magical. You have to be comfortable around each other and also connect on a personal level next to a musical level. That enables an atmosphere in which you get more creative.”
Q- What keeps you motivated?
A- ”My love for music always keeps me motivated. It’s literally a hobby that has grown to a certain level. As soon as I wake up I listen to music; I go to bed while listening to music; I make music. And of course also my fans, who keep me motivated with all their support. To see them having fun and sing along to my tracks at shows is just amazing. That really gives me so much energy!”
Martin Garrix reveals that he has a great amount of unreleased music that he can’t wait to share with the world, and we absolutely can’t wait to hear it! – ”It’s crazy how much unreleased music I have right now. I’ve been in the studio with Ryan Tedder, I got something in the works with him and I’m very excited about that. I just can’t wait to put out new music.”
Q- Who are your favourite DJs currently?
A- ”There are so many good DJs out there at the moment! I have a lot of great talent on STMPD RCRDS, we recently released songs from Blinders, Brooks, CMC$ and Codes. All so talented!”
Martin Garrix will be coming to India this December for TIMEOUT 72 in Vagator, Goa, taking place from 27-29th. The artist has been to India a couple of times in the past, and has absolutely won our hearts over with his music and energy, winning him a strong fan-base in the country.
Q- This is not the first time you are coming to India. Tell us about what s it about India that you like the most and why? Also what makes you keep coming back?
A- ”First and foremost to see my fans there. That’s always the main reason to come back of course. India is really beautiful with an amazing culture. It’s so different from my home country. That’s what I like about being on tour, visiting so many different countries over the world, I get a lot of inspiration from that as well.”
The DJ intends on extending his trip to the country to indulge in some sightseeing that he is really eager to experience. The last time Martin Garrix was in India he was wowed by the sheer beauty of the Taj Mahal. Here’s hoping that Martin gets to see more of India this time around and that we may run into him somewhere!
”Thank you guys so much for your amazing support and I hope to see all of you at the show! Let’s party together.” – says Martin Garrix to his Indian fans who will be witnessing him at TIMEOUT 72, Goa.
