Probably one of the biggest success stories at TomorrowWorld this year. This year the Sherp caught up with one of Atlanta’s rising stars, Eddie Gold. The Sherp believes that if you are humble, hard working and talented like Eddie your dreams will come true.

Sherp: So Eddie, How was your first year at TomorrowWorld

Oh My God ! It has been amazing, every step of the way has been amazing. It’s been a great experience and I actually camped out in Dreamville this year with all my friends and they were like why aren’t you in artist camping.

I’m sure that’s because you wanted to have a proper experience.

So last year I came to TomorrowWorld and I worked for TomorrowWorld. I helped build bathrooms and dig holes, I worked in Dreamville and I said one day, I want to play this festival

And it happened !

Just one year later, I’m here. I’m experiencing it from this side of the fence. I’m meeting people that are legends to me. It’s just surreal ! I’m so happy, I’m so lucky and I’m so grateful.Thank you for letting my dream come true.

So you played at the ATL Liquified Stage, How was that ?

It was great. Right before TomorrowWorld, my friends, Yld Noobz and I did a collaboration that I opened my set with. It’s available on my Soundcloud profile as a free download. Before I started playing there were probably about twenty people and as soon as I started playing it just filled in and it was the most amazing feeling to watch people smiling and dancing and just going off. I’ve been waiting my whole life for this feeling, and here it is.

Can you name the 4 biggest musical influences.

James Brown, Michael Jackson.. definitely,Bob Marley is in there and I like that guy Dave Grohl (smirks) he’s pretty good. Those are my influences before I got into EDM but I have EDM influences that I really really love and have changed my perspective. A long time ago, I went and caught this guy called (pauses and smiles) Diplo he played at this small club called TSI in Jacksonville and this club could probably fill about 300 people and this guy played every thing across the board. I was like, ” This is dope ” That’s definitely a guy that’s influenced me. Heroes and Villains, Mayhem those guys have been mentors to me and I speak to them and get feedback on my music and they live here in Atlanta.

So, what’s the next step ?

After TomorrowWorld we’re about to do a three month winter tour with an Electro and Big Room duo called Dirty Lasers who hail from Las Vegas. The tour starts on the West Coast and will end here ( South East Coast, USA). That’s next but hopefully my other dreams will come true. I definitely want to play EDC and I want to go play somewhere for Disco Donnie, I love that guy ! He was one of my biggest influences when I first got into this music scene. I used to go to his parties and State Palace Theatre, New Orleans and that’s where it really started for me.

Do you have any new music coming out soon ?

Yes, I have a couple of new songs coming out. One of them is called Magic and it is going to feature a rapper that comes from Atlanta who goes by the name of K- Major. That should be out in mid- October.

Do you see yourself playing in India any time soon ?

Man, let me tell you something. Back in the day, my friend introduced me to Goa Trance and he would tell me about these Full Moon parties that would take place in India . He would make me listen to this stuff, and it was great ! I would definitely love, love , love to play in India. I would love to see how they interpret and perceive my music.
