Last December, Roddy Ricch scored his first diamond plaque with his Please Forgive Me for Being Antisocial single “The Box,” making it his biggest single ever. But it got a little awkward; when during a recent club performance the Compton rapper couldn’t remember the lyrics to his chart-topping hit.

In a TikTok video, Roddy Ricch drew a blank as the DJ spun the track in the background; and can be seen forgetting the first few bars from the song’s opening verse. As the crowd expresses their disappointment, Roddy gestures offstage to indicate that he can’t hear the music in his earpiece. He’s eventually able to recover and get back to rapping.

Roddy Ricch isn’t the only rapper to forget his own lyrics. Lil Baby starred in an episode of Can Artists Finish Their Own Lyrics last April, a TikTok series hosted by Jewelry Unlimited, and was asked to rap the lyrics to “I’m Straight” from 2018’s Harder Than Ever, and notably struggled a bit.

Roddy Ricch celebrated “The Box’s” diamond status with a fancy dinner alongside all of his friends, including YouTuber FaZe Banks.

“Yeah. Yeah, n-gga… 10 of them bitches, n-gga,” the West Coast crooner can be heard saying in a clip on his Instagram Story as he is awarded his framed diamond plaque.

Roddy Ricch returned with his sophomore project a few weeks after receiving the certification. LIVE LIFE FAST dropped on December 17 and featured appearances from Future, Kodak Black, 21 Savage, Takeoff, Ty Dolla $ign, Fivio Foreign, Gunna, Lil Baby and others.
