Taalbelia once again brings an eclectic mix of folk musicians with artists from all over the nation beyond boundaries of genre, coming together to perform live every weekend with us for a great cause.

Taalbelia – Folk Alive, Weekend Jams brings live what matters in this hour to help them hold up the relevance of their consistent efforts to carry forward the prolific folk legacy.

These times have hit our industry hard with some negligible business opportunities ahead but amongst all, the local folk talent has been the most affected, to an extent where we don’t even know if they have enough in hand to feed their families. For many of us we will find out ways to survive somehow but for our folks who only know the language of music, these
times are hard to cope up with. These times call for the need to hand hold these artists and stand with them by helping them through a medium they know the best.

Taalbelia – Folk Alive, Weekend Jams is an Initiative by Taalbelia bringing forward a community made with these amazingly talented artists. This initiative is a bridge connecting the ends of humanity together. We will be hand picking the Manganiyaars who can benefit out of this the most.

Taalbelia being a boutique residential music festival has always promoted Rajasthani folk music and has given them a platform to rise and gain some attention. These are some highly affected times where they need our support more than ever for survival as they are suffering the most. Let’s help them with this initiative by Taalbelia – Folk Alive, Weekend Jams β€œRelive the vibe to save the folk”.

A word from the Festival Director
Folk Music which has thousands of years of legacy had already been facing the challenge of extinction and came this pandemic which has triggered this extinction manyfolds. More and more musicians and performers are finding it extremely tough to even provide two meals to their family in a day. The folk musicians were largely dependent on the β€œJajman” culture
coming through ages where these musicians go and perform in celebrations like weddings, mundan, or any special social occasion. Since the lockdown, there has been no avenue for their performances, hence no earning whatsoever. Taalbelia as a festival always had a soul of folk music while all kinds of genres of music immersed into it smoothly to make it a unique
multi genre music and cultural experience. Reliving the same vibes we bring you Taalbelia- Folk Alive , Weekend Jams which will not only be a great showcase of the immersive and collaborative highlight of the festival but will also be a unique platform where the folk musicians performing on the day can get live donations directly in their personal account through Paytm/UPI/Digital Payments. By doing this we not only give them a platform of performing to a larger set of audience which they have been missing but we also help them financially to sustain these tough times and not venture into any other daily wage labour. There also will be a unique collaboration between a renowned artist who comes to the support of these folk musicians creating a unique new collaborative music virtually. –Siddhartha Chaturvedi Founder & CEO Event Crafter
