Apparently, having fun or displaying affection in public is immoral according to politics and soon, even breathing will be?

Certain political partiesย have always been enforcing their narrow minds in the form of their self-righteous laws and morals onto the public and stunting even the prospects of the birth of broader perspectives in Indian people. Now, they are all ready to take bigger steps into forcing their thoughts about bigger issues (apparently) like EDM festivals in Goa, on all of us.

Shiv Sena haveย joined hands with Goa Suraksha Manch (GSM)ย to ban EDM festivals in Goa. Not only this, they will discontinue giving government grants to English medium schools. Apparently, curbing English-speaking population is the answer to all our woes? What’s more is the promise they have made to fight substance abuse in Goa by setting up a special narcotic cell.

GSM, a tributary of Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM), was formed after BJP refused to give into their demands of discontinuing government grants to English medium schools. BBSM is fighting elections in alliance with Shiv Sena and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP)ย and has assured that they will curb all the rave parties and EDM festivals in Goa.

All our fellow festival-goers, we share this immensely dissatisfying moment with you and wonder about the decline of EDM music scenes in Goa which started when two major festivals had to be pushed out of the state last year. In time, where India is coming of age as one of the most entertainment-oriented music festivalย country, it is rather sad to see the politics mixing in with music and fun. The magical paradise that is Goa, we wish the best for it.
