The organisers just put out an official statement

As expected, the first edition of Paradise Festival to be held in Leh Ladakh this weekend has been cancelled due to the massive floods taking place in J&K right now. The team just put out a statement mentioning the cancellation and that their crew was safe and would be heading to Delhi as soon as possible. All queries regarding refunds and cancellations will be handled henceforth.

Regardless of the festival being re-scheduled, we’re just glad the team is safe.

Although the organisers are yet to release an official statement, it’s highly unlikely that the festival will be held ,Β considering the current situation in Jammu & Kashmir

As you all probably know by now, Jammu and Kashmir is currently going through the worst floods it has seen in around 6 decades. The situation is dire with around 200 people feared dead and countless villages in the state affected due to flooding.

We’re aware most of you are wondering what this means forΒ Paradise Festival, which was scheduled take place in Kashmir this coming weekend. We triedΒ contacted the organisers regarding this issue, but have not yet responded. However, they did put out a Facebook post today, stating that their festival crew (already at the venue) has been cut off from any communication due to a lack of electricity and phones lines being off the grid. As soon as they hear from their team, they will let us know.Β Here’s the full post:

While information regarding the festival taking place or not is still ambiguous, we’re of the opinion that a festival like this will most likely be postponed or cancelled. Β For those of you who have bought tickets and accommodation, wait till organisers get back to you and in the mean time keep watching this space for more updates.

We’re praying for the safety of the hard-working Paradise crew. Right now, that is of utmost importance.
