Now That’s A Debut! The GOAT Festival Had A Successful First Edition!

GOAT Festival had a successful first edition, living up to its promises and giving visitors an intricate experience.

Held from 27th to 29th of January, the festival introduced avid fans to new sounds like the Afrobeat stylings of Afroquoi and Eastern European and the Eastern melodies of the Turbans. They even got a chance to experience celebrated DJs like Gilles Peterson, secretsundaze co-founder James Priestley, Kiasmos, as well as some of the most exciting acts like BLOT!, Sandunes, Aqua Dominatrix and Kumail.

Gilles Peterson, known for being a celebrated broadcast host, DJ and label owner; mixed in Latin American sounds with disco, house and techno, before leading into some full-on Bollywood vibes with the song ‘Choli ke peeche’ from hit hindi movie Khalnayak.

In addition to the music then went on from 2 pm right up to 10 pm in the night, the festival also included a range of interesting activities including sound bathing, sunset jams, body art, dance workshops and stalls. These stalls were filled with everything from vintage finds to cool new clothes!

GOAT festival was held at Marbela Resort, one of Goa’s most popular beach spots. Thanks to the festival, the resort was transformed from an all-white resort into a floral jungle where disco and house took over! The event was organised by the London-based agency, GOAT, a company formed in 2015.
