It is no question that Vh1 Supersonic has cemented itself as one of India’s best musical offerings and with each year they strive to be better than the year before. And this year seems to be a similar story, but things only seem to have gone to the #SupersonicSonic-osphere!
Headlining on the Main Stage 2, aka the Live Stage, are the super-talented alt-J (Day 1), Hypnotic Brass Ensemble (Day 2), and Incubus (Day 3).
alt-J
This English-Indie rock band hails from Leeds, England, but their songs are universal. Formed in 2007, the band comprises of Joe Newman, Thom Sunny Green, and Gus Unger-Hamilton. Their major hits include Breezeblocks, Taro, Hunger of The Pine, Left Hand Free, and more.
Another reason to get excited is that this will be the band’s first appearance in India since their last visit in 2015. Take it from us, these opportunities do not come by often!
Incubus
Ponder on your yesteryear if you were into rock music and remember the 90’s era. There’s no way you’d not remember listening to Incubus and having your love for rock music growing. The American band has for over 20 years rocked the world with their music, and even with their latest venture into EDM music, with the help of Skrillex, the band continues to awe their fans. Their latest album, ‘8‘, featuring Skrillex, has renewed their sensation in present day music and are sure to be a hit among audiences – both young and old.
Adding to the oomph that these headliners are sure to pack on the respective days, is a lineup of equally incredible artists, and some who we’ve been waiting to see in India since time immemorial! Expect a magnanimous lineup featuring Pentagram, Parekh & Singh, Donn Bhat + Passenger Revelator, Plini ft. David Maxim Micic, LANDS, aswekeepsearching, Buttering Trio, Easy Wanderlings, Soul Mate, The Ska Vengers, Curtain Blue, MOSKO, The F16s, Bombay Bassment, Dossers Urge, and The Fanculos.
Hypnotic Brass Ensemble
Think you’ve seen all kinds of orchestral performances, well, just wait until you watchHypnotic Brass EnsembleΒ at Vh1 Supersonic. The 8 piece band are brothers who travel the world to perform with just their brass horns and a drum set. What’s interesting is that their father, Phil Cohran, was a jazz trumpeter and the brothers used to perform as the “Phil Cohran Youth Ensemble” in their adolescent days.
Expect an eclectic blend of jazz with blues music that is sure to get you swaying to their truly hypnotic set!
Among these, a highly awaited act is that of Mumbai rockers, Pentagram, who will be performing together after a hiatus of almost 5 years.
