Starting off your summer vacation right, here are the best and brightest music festivals taking place this June!

1. Governor’s Ball

Possessing a roster that look a lot like Coachella’s, GovBall is one of the country’s most anticipated gatherings. Pitted along with the likes of Lollapalooza (notice the curiously similar font on the flyer), Ultra, Coachella and TomorrowWorld, the festival is now in it’s fifth year, and with the acts they’ve signed this time, it’s surely heading in the right direction. As NYC’s flagship festival, Governor’s ball has gained some serious brownie points over the years, with its star studded lineups and popularity, a perfect festival kicking off the USA summer season.

In a time when headline acts sell tickets, Sonar stands out and maintains its image as one of the best musical experiences on the globe. In order to move enough tickets, most festivals of its size lean hard on big and sometimes obvious names. And yet Sónar, has managed again and again to pack its two huge venues with impressively bold lineups. This year’s three-day event in Barcelona will be one of the most uncompromising yet. Their big names are beyond reproach: Chemical Brothers, Flying Lotus, Seth Troxler are just some of them.
