The Ballard Estate Festival has got your weekend plans covered all the way until May!
Creating history of sorts, the swish South Mumbai commercial nucleus known for its British lineage and architectural magnificence, Ballard Estate, will open up for the first time as an open venue for organizing commercial ground events.Β Starting January 23, the festival will be conducted every weekend, from 11 AM to 11 PM until May 2016 with an aspiration of being viewed as the largest lifestyle and cultural extravaganza ever witnessed by Mumbaikars.Β The doors of the festival will then be closed to the general public during the monsoon months and will make a comeback in October 2016 till May 2017 and will be standard for 3 years starting from this year.
TheΒ Honβble Minister Of Road Transport & Highways Of India, Shri Nitin Gadkari will be the Chief Guest Of Honour at the inauguration on the 24th followed by a performance by Sanam Band. With state of the art production, the festival will see high decibel live performances by artists likeNucleya, Anish Sood, Indus Creed, Raghu Dixit Project, Bombay BassmentΒ andΒ Shaair N Func.
The festival will be earmarked with 5 zones dedicated to different forms of experiences β a Β huge food court, Β entertainment including live arena, retail point, kids zone, silent zone (theatre and after parties). Β Imbibing the spirit of a street festival, more than 100 retail and food & beverage options will be incorporated in one place, something that Mumbai has never experienced before. Apart from the major gourmet fiesta, it will also include various interactive elements such as musical concerts, movie promotions, exhibitions, performing arts showcase, contemporary art shows, heritage walks, flea markets and a lot more.
