Students of theΒ Tokyo University Of The ArtsΒ constructed incredible sculptures of various animals for the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival.

The Japanese have some extremely weird festivals, such as the recently heldΒ Kanamara Matsuri A.K.A. the penis festival. When they’re not tugging along giant phallic sculptures, their festivals often feature portable shrines, statues and sculptures of various subjects. A very similar thing was done by the students of theΒ Tokyo University Of The Arts in celebration of the Tokyo Cherry Blossom Festival at Ueno Park.

The Cherry Blossom Festival is an indication of winter ending and is a much awaited natural event. People gather in crowds to admireΒ the beauty of the cherry blossoms along with picnics and other fun activities. Such events are held all over the country and are even a tourist attraction.
