Wiwek has been on a roll as of late. One of the newest signees to Skrillex’s diverse label OWSLA, Wiwek’s sounds are best described in two words: Jungle Terror!

It took him a while to come up with that name though. Wiwek’s initial tunes created a small buzz, but what really got the word out was when he collaborated with Gregor Salto on a track, On Your Mark. Its jungle samples and off-beat percussion sounds were pretty unique at the time, and fans lapped it up quickly.Β Wiwek still includes this one in his numerous sets around the world.

As for the Jungle Terror name itself, Wiwek had this to say to Nest HQ:

“My songs are β€˜jungle terror’ when its hard and crazy enough for the guys but still rhythmic enough for the girls to shake their ass. It needs to give people this β€˜WTF’ feeling when they first hear it.”

Wiwek had more releases lined up, obviously. So, he officially debuted the Jungle Terror moniker with his first EP on Yellow Claw’s Barong Family label, and christened it Jungle Terror. Featuring collaborations with Alvaro and MC Spyder, this one was an absolute smasher of an EP, containing 4 of the most hard-hitting tracks on the label.

He didn’t stop at this. A second EP followed on Barong Family, called Jungle Terror Vol. 2. His slow but steady rise in popularity landed him an EP on Diplo’s record label Mad Decent, and his first release on OWSLA, called Bang Bang Theory, which featured on their Miami Spring Compilation.

Some other labels Wiwek has been on are Spinnin’, its subsidiary Doorn, and Revealed Recordings. He also has a label of his own, called Rimbu. It stresses mostly on songs that follow the Jungle Terror theme.

His first EP on OWSLA came out a month ago. The Free And The Rebellious EP features collaborations with Skrillex, Yellow Claw and Sirah, and is a clear indication of how his style has matured over the years. The Dutch producer has travelled all over the world with his music, and has performed at some of the world’s biggest festivals like Ultra, SXSW, HARD and HOLY SHIP! to name a few.

Wiwek has come to India before, during Afrojack’s second tour of the country. Performing right before the ‘No Beef’ hit maker, Wiwek introduced several people to his unique take on electro house, and his constant use of Indian samples drove crowds into a frenzy. It’s not surprising, considering that his ancestors were from India.

The producer is coming to ADE, for a master class and a gig! He’s going to unleash the Jungle Terror at the OWSLA showcase at Kitty Su, and you do not want to miss it!

Meanwhile, Wiwek has cooked a mix specially for ADE Mumbai, and you can listen to it right here!
