The 23 year old Mumbai producer will perform the new EP with a live band for the first time!

After two well-received EPs and 2016’s full length debut Links, Kumail Hamid, has released his third EP From You To Blue on indie label Knowmad Records. While the live EP Launch takes place on the 24th of March at antiSOCIAL, Khar, Mumbai, the EP releases across online platforms today! One of the Indian indie music scene’s favourite beat makers, Kumail, will be performing with a live band, which involves the city’s finest musicians, Apurv Isaac (Lala) on guitars and Nathan Thomas on bass.

Kumail has played major festivals such as Magnetic Fields, (where he’s shared the line up with Shigeto, DJ Koze and Ratatat) Sunburn (Goa), Bass Camp, Future Theory Festival and most recently, Appa Art Festival, and has opened for Lapalux , FKJ and Madam X amongst other reputed international artists. While his recent influences of new age hip-hop are perfectly evident in his dance floor friendly DJ sets, Kumail’s live act incorporates the same along with ambient soundscapes with meticulously panned rhythm sections.

This is also the first time that Kumail will play the drums live during a set, apart from handling vocal duties. The new live set also comprises of live visuals by one of India’s most talented visual artists Nikunj Patel a.k.a Moebius. The Sherp looks forward to this fresh and interesting approach.

The launch gig also sees support from Krunk bossman EZ Riser and and synth master Sandunes who will bring their eclectic forms of electronica to antiSOCIAL’s gates. Passes are available at the venue. RSVP for the gig here
