After a spellbinding close to the second season of Bollywood Music Project, let’s cement in the best of the Delhi edition’s memories and eagerly await the next!

The highly awaited second season of Asia’s biggest celebration of Bollywood in a music festival, Gaanaย Bollywood Music Project, kicked off this past weekend in the nation’s capital and it sure did pack the anticipated oomph. The third edition since the festival’sย inauguration was scheduled for two days, 27th & 28th January. The event was organized byย Event Capitalย (A Laqshya Media Group Company) andย TM Talent Management.

After an eager wait, Bollywood fans finally got their dose of Bollywood as the second season of Gaana Bollywood Music Project went down in Delhi and had quite a few moments that we’d like to hold dear ahead in time.

Day 1

Day 1 featured a stellar lineup and opened its gates to an elated gathering of eager fans. Day 1 was headlined by the energetic live act of Farhan Akhtar’s, Farhan Live. The rest of the roster featured equally exciting acts such as Bolly Youth, Sachin-Jigar, Guru Randhawa, Euphoria, Raftaar, Papon Live, and the special tribute to AR Rahman act.

Here’s a quick look at the preparations that ensued for the big opening on Day 1.

The warm and peaceful afternoon was all the more welcoming for Delhi’s audience making their way to Gaana Bollywood Music Project. The afternoon kicked off with sets happening across both the stages. Ashish Chabra, and Zephyr & Simar Kaur had the honours of opening duties for opening on the two separate stages. Following up on the aptly energetic initiation was the special tribute to India’s music stalwart, AR Rahman, by Charu Semwal, Harish Moyal, Shashi Suman, and Shuchismita Das.

As the evening progressed, fans were witness to the truly stellar compilation of various acts that set Gaana Bollywood Music Project apart with its genre-bending roster. A greatly enjoyable combined set titled Bolly Youth featured the talents of Divya Kumar, Mohammed Irfan, and Shefali Alvares. The Rock Qawwali ft. Farhan Sabri, Paras Maan, and Prithvi Gandharv, had Delhiites rocking out to their tunes.

As the evening began to set in, the venue was resonating with the sounds of Sachin-Jigar, Euphoria, Guru Randhawa, and Raftaar, and the audience crooning along as well. Papon performed his live set to an energetic crowd who were eager to dance to his popular tunes, and continue in the merrymaking. As the crowd erupted in a wild uproar, everyone knew there could only be one reason for it – the arrival of Farhan Live. The performance set the standard for a truly amazing second season and the third edition of Gaana Bollywood Music Project and set expectations high for Day 2 of the festival.

Day 2

Day 2 had the aura and the electric vibe of anguished excitement and pulsating rhythm as the second and final day of Gaana Bollywood Music Project kicked in. Day 2 was a magnified reflection of Day 1 with the atmosphere and energy getting even more raucous on the second day. The schedule for the day was as such:

To kick off proceedings, Kutle Khan invigorated the second day with an instrumental set on Stage 1 that did nothing short of mesmerize the audience. Stage 1 followed up with performances by Zublee ft Gaurav Dutta & Goldie Sohel, and Shilpa Rao with Dhruv Sangari and Kutle Khan.

A power-packed memory from Day 2 included the performance of Aditi Singh Sharma, Anusha Mani, Shilpa Rao and Shruti Pathak, who performed together for a gig called “Woomaniya“. The energy kept cascading well into the following act of Richa Sharma who stunned the crowd with her jumpy singles.

Stage 2 had the energy pumping through the performances of some of the youngest and most talented performers in the country with the likes of The Suyansh Project, Mellow D, B Praak, Gurnazar and Yuvraaj Hans. The stage also featured a debut performance by famed lyricist/singer, Amitabh Bhattacharya, followed by an incredible set by Shalmali Kholgade who belted out some of her greatest Bollywood hits.

Benny Dayal & Funktuation. Ft The Horn Flakes raised the bar and had the complete Delhi audience grooving and in aptly in prep for Day 2’s headliner, Vishal Bhardwaj, who delivered an infectious performance before signing off the yet another amazing season of Gaana Bollywood Music Project.

The winner of the uber-cool Honda NAVi Customania competition was also announced at Gaana Bollywood Music Project and was awarded a sum of INR 2 lakhs and the opportunity to showcase their Honda NAVi custom at the 2018 Auto Expo, which is the biggest automobile extravaganza in the country.
