An artiste’s technical rider can range from exorbitant to outright ridiculous. Here are some of the strangest requests that the team at Future Music Festival had to deal with. Β

For those unaware with the term ‘technical rider’, it’s aΒ set of requests or demands that a performer will put forward, apart from the fee, in exchange for their performance at a show. If you’ve ever been in charge of handling an artiste, or just managed to sneak your way to the backstage of a show, you may have spotted these ‘items’ stacked up in the green room. These requests may vary from artiste to artiste, and quite often, some of them can be very hard to deal with. Unfortunately, they’re in charge of the music at the festival, and an organizer simply has to make these top priority.
Future Music Festival, one of the biggest festivals in the southern hemisphere, has come across a number of weird requests across it’s 8 years of existence. Here’s a few of them, along with some memes. Because we love memes:
