Music lovers from the Big Apple just got some bad news.

Electric Daisy Carnival debuted in New York for the first time in 2012, giving the city an unforgettable and exquisite musical experience. Now, in shocking news for electronic music fans from the city, Pasquale Rotella, who is the co-founder and CEO of Insomniac Events, has announced that EDC won’t be heading to New York next year.

This news comes as a disappointment to music fans from the city who will now have to head to Vegas to catch the festival. The news was posted on a since-deleted post on Facebook.

The statement read, β€œAlthough EDC New York 2016 was one of my favorites hosted in the Big Apple, we’ve decided to take a break in 2017. We hope many of you East Coast Headliners will join us in Vegas. We’ll have an Art Car sound system paying homage to New York DJs past and present. As I write this, I’ve gotta mention all the hard work and creativity that is going into the completely reimagined kineticFIELD, as well as an entirely new ADDITIONAL stage. The team and I are energized about an epic EDC Las Vegas 2017!”

Well, New Yorkers may be missing out on an amazing experience but Vegas certainly has another reason to party. And with news of the new stage set-up for the Las Vegas show, we can’t wait to see what happens!
