Indigo Live have put together a wonderful combination of artist who will be playing for a cause at blueFROG this August!

Music for a cause’ seems to have become all the rage and with good reason. Music speaks to the masses in more ways than we can contemplate so it makes perfect sense to use it as a platform to spread the β€˜good word’, which is exactly what the guys at Indigo Live intend to do.

This August they are going to be launching a series of gigs under a β€˜Cry Freedom’ banner. Each gig will address a different (and extremely relevant) social cause, and will aim to spread awareness about the same through the language of music. And in time, Indigo Live, hope that Cry Freedom will become a platform for the youth to express their freedom in daily lives i.e. freedom from discrimination, violence, corruption, moral policing, etc.

The second edition of Cry Freedom, will be addressing the prevalent and persistent issue of β€˜crime against women’ and with the help of prominent Indian musicians Dualist Inquiry, Sandunes, Sulk Station & Vasudha Sharma to spread the word through their superior music.

If by chance you haven’t heard of these artists, here is a little more about them:

Dualist Inquiry

Dualist Inquiry is the brainchild and solo project of Sahej Bakshi, a producer, guitarist and composer who graduated from the Thronton Music School at USC in Los Angeles, CA. Critics state that his latest release DoppelgangerΒ “is likely to expand the boundaries of India’s electronica”.

Sandunes

Sanaya a.k.a. Sandunes as she is called by her adoring fans, is best described as “live music blended with dark studio production and a heavy dose of UK underground electronics”. Sandunes is a unique live experience where studio meet stage.

Sulk Station

Tanvi Rao and Rahul Giri came together in 2009 to form Sulk Station. Their songs are a mix of contemporary electronic music genres (trip-hop/post-dubstep/ambient) with traces of Indian classical music.

Vasudha Sharma

Starting her career as a part of India’s earliest Indi-pop bands Aasma on Channel V’s reality show Popstarts, Vasuda Sharma has become an exemplary indie singer songwriter. She is currently working on her debut solo album and promises to lighten the mood with her melodious voice.

Β So guys make sure you show your support and come-together to form a super community of music loving β€˜Cause-Fighters’ plus there is the added advantage of being treated to some super music!
