It’s time to use entertainment to make a real change.

2017 is beaming with opportunities, promises, hopes, dreams and visions. Among all the excitement that a new year brings, it’s important that we focus on making a difference as well. And we all know there’s no better way to spread the message of change, social awareness and charity than through the music we all know and love, is there?

Well, looks like we found just the inspiration. This enthusiastic pioneer had the exact same thought, but more importantly, he is all set to take action. Mr. Shailendra Singh (Inceptor of Sunburn Festival) made a surprise announcement in what he claims to be “the biggest entertainment for good event on the planet”.

After spending three decades captaining Percept and establishing a connection with the youth through Sunburn, Singh is ready for his next goal – social welfare through entertainment. Titled Guestlist4Good, the entrepreneur is very clear about his objective.

“Music has the power to make a social difference,” says Shailendra. “In 2016, through the Guestlist concept, we were able to raise money to educate 38,200 children on the Magic Bus program. In 2017, our goal is much bigger. So big, we’ve even renamed ourselves – Guestlist4Good – in order to prove that we have a clear, focused mission: entertainment-for- good.” Guestlist4Good was originally known as Guestlistevents.in, the entertainment-for-good movement.

When the event launched, it was a game-changer for the world. This launch event was called ‘World’s biggest Guestlist’ and featured EDM producer Hardwell who was #1 at the time. He willingly performed the concert for free so that 100,00 fans would be able to attend the event free of charge. That’s what we call a genuine artist! What’s even more awesome is that all the profits of this event benefited 18,200 children on the Magic Bus programme.

The second event was a charity event featuring current #1 DJ in the world, Martin Garrix. Held in Mumbai, this event raised enough money to pull a massive 10,000 children out of poverty! Another 10,000 kids will receive education through the #Guetta4Good concert that is taking place this month.

“Our mission is simple,” says Shailendra, “Entertain. Educate. Empower. Through global events with a heart, we will revolutionize live entertainment for fans around the world. While doing this, with the help of domestic and international artists, we raise money to educate hundreds of thousands of children through the Magic bus programme. And through Guestlist4Good, we are empowering artists and fans to make a social difference, just by doing what they love to do anyway!”

What’s exciting and even more appealing about the Guestlist concept is that it’s a ‘made-in-India’ idea that we can all be proud of.

“There are 84 million children in India that do not attend school. That is just unacceptable. The time to make a difference, is now,” Shailendra says. Stay tuned for more news on the event right here.
