The genre-bending Area 79 Festival is back in Delhi this October; promises to be a melting pot of diverse artistes
Come October 11 and Blue Frog, Delhi, will transform into a perfect festival venue, complete with four stages — which will host over 30 artistes — and a flea market set-up with art installations, food stalls, exhibitions and a wide range of activities. The popular live music venue is gearing up to host the much-anticipated third installment of the Area 79 Festival.
The past 2 editions — that were held in the outdoor and indoor spaces of the same venue — had also aimed at providing a unique experience by mixing alternative lifestyle and culture.
The upcoming event will showcase an eclectic mix of genres, ranging from psytrance, techno and dubstep to jazz, classical and reggae. So far, only the line-up for the indoor Psytrance stage, called the Trip Stage, has been released. The acts featuring there include Shiva Central (Audio Aashram), Weatherman (Audio Aashram), Vaeya (Zenon records), Whrikk (Sanaton Records), K.T/ Kumbhakaran (Parvati Records), System Overload (Hokus Pokus).
