These are early days at Oktoberfest, but the festival has already been scarred with a reported incident involving the rape of a 24-year-old British man in the outskirts of Theriesienwise – the open space when the globally renowned German beer festival is held each year.
According to the Daily Mail, the man was approached by a stranger who demanded to indulge in sexual activities with him. After rejecting his demand, he was attacked by another man. He was held in a firm grip on the ground by one of the assailants, while the other raped him.
This particular incident took place when the British national went to relieve himself in the open, which also points to the problem of insufficient loos on the festival premises.

It is to be noted that this attack is not the first this year. A few days ago a woman was assaulted by a 16-year-old-boy, who attempted to rape her.
The Sherp certainly hopes the global beer festival runs smoothly in days to come.
