WHAAAAAT!

Just when you thought Vh1 Supersonic couldn’t top themselves after announcing Eric Prydz as the first headliner for the festival this year, they’ve gone ahead and blown all expectations!

The festival just announced that their second headliner is none other that worldwide thrifty shopper, Macklemore! And now we collectively scream! Tickets here!

This will be the first time that the festival is introducing Hip Hop into the headlining act as well as the lineup. The rapper, who is known for addressing social issues on a few tracks, will be making his way to the festival in February and we couldn’t be happier. The set is bound to be energetic at an infectious rate and with good reason. Just don’t pass out from all the excitement. Expect all the hit songs like “Thrift Shop”, “Can’t Hold Us “ and more headed our way! Check out his infectious energy here:

Macklemore spoke about his debut performance stating, “India is one of my favorite places in the world. Extremely excited to be playing this festival!”

Gionee India CEO, Arvind Vohra said, “Gionee has an aggressive market strategy to stay connected with the youth by partnering with well-known youth-centric properties. Our partnership with Vh1 supersonic is a step in that direction and we are excited to be associated with the festival. They are really changing the music landscape by introducing some of the best names first Eric Prydz and now Hip-hop star Macklemore.”

This is also the first festival that Budweiser is sponsoring in 2017, and with a bang! Marketing Director of AB InBev, Kartikeya Sharma said, “2016 was a great year for Budweiser as we introduced the Indian audience to some of the biggest electronic music experiences for the very first time. This year, we are committed towards amplifying this further. We are excited to kick start 2017 by partnering with Vh1 Supersonic who are bringing legendary Eric Prydz to India for the first time. It is an important year for Budweiser wherein we want to lead the electronic music space in India and our associations with Supersonic will only further this agenda.”

As the organisers had announced earlier, the ticket prices have gone up with this artist announcement to INR 3,375 for general admission tickets, INR 5624 for the VIP tickets and a special price of INR 2,700 for student passes for all three days, from the 10th – 12th of February, which is pretty sweet.

But who wouldn’t want to see this man live! Head on over to get those tickets ASAP.

We’ll be busy scouting for the best fur coat to match his.
