Rajasthan is once again opening its heart to music lovers with the third edition of its most well-known festival – Ragasthan. Scheduled to take place from the 23rd to the 25th of February 2018, the sand dunes of the Thar in Jaisalmer will magically transform into a beautiful festival that will breathe life into the otherwise barren desert. After all, it is Asia’s first ever destination camping festival.

The beauty of Ragasthan is that a city is built from scratch, where you can camp in your own tent or choose luxury tents, while musicians from across the country and the world unite and play music that is significantly different from what you would have heard before.

Although the line-up hasn’t been announced yet, you can look forward to catching some new and emerging talent from rural and urban India, as the festival makes for a great platform to promote some eclectic never-heard-before sounds. The MORIO stage will host pop, rock, world and folk music while the AMMARA stage will cater to the techno, trance, electronic and progressive music lovers. The BIRAKHA stage will strum its way into your heart with indie, acoustic and unplugged sets.

But music is just one aspect of the festival. There are a whole bunch of activities lined up to keep you occupied all day long. For those on a leisure trip, you must make the most of the Star Gazing Sessions. Theatre in the Dunes, Open Air Film Tent, and Bonfire Sessions with Musicians providing mood music. For the adventure junkies, there is Dune Bashing, Kite Flying, Para-Motoring and Hot Air Balloon Rides, and much more. There will also be installations across the venue that have been created by artists from India and around the world.
