Armin van Buuren & Philips Launch DJ Sound System

Superstar trance DJ Armin van Buuren announced a special collaboration with the electronics giant Philips to launch the new M1X-DJ System at the IFA Berlin that was held last week. Seeing the potential of digital apps, the two teamed up to create an all-in-one and affordable DJ solution.

The Philips M1X-DJ is a portable twin-turntable iPad digital mixing deck that comes with three 80-watt speakers as well as the Algoriddim DJing app. For those who want to mix, play and share their music on one portable device, this deck is really simple to use. Beginners and professionals alike are provided with an authentic DJ experience thanks to its varied features.

The mini-mixer includes a cue button to match your tunes from each turntable, a BPM counter, tempo adjustment slider, pitch and volume faders and also a sync button to help you cheat at mixing if you’re an amateur. Other features include echo and flange buttons. And if you’re pleased with your sounds, you can also record and share your mixes on your social network. Good news for those who wish to take the party outside – your device can play for five hours with regular D cell batteries.

The device is compatible with the latest iPad, the iPad mini as well as the iPhone 5. There’s also Bluetooth connectivity that allows you to share your favorite music from Bluetooth-enabled devices.
