The Dutch legend will be taking a trip to space in 2014

“For every DJ, it’s a dream to travel 3,5 times faster than their own sound! And then that deafening silence at 100 kilometers high. I can’t wait. I guess a 200 BPM heart rate is likely.” – Armin van Buuren

The thought of traveling thousands of kilometers away from the earth is almost horrifying for many! But this unparalleled trance producer seemed comical in his reply!

So if you thought Hardwell was the ‘Spaceman’, well, think twice, because you might be wrong! This trance heavyweight is all set to literally embark on a trip to outer space courtesy of SXC.

SXC (Space Expedition Corporation) strives to facilitate the exciting new global trend of making space-tourism accessible to private organizations and people. Space is no longer the exclusive domain of governments and institutions like NASA. Along with providing the opportunity to experience space adventure travel, SXC also facilitates scientific research and education.

Back in 2011, the announcement of Armin’s trip was made by his management team. Recently, Armin took to Facebook to remind his fans that the trip is still on. As one of the 100 ‘Founder Astronauts’, he will undergo a series of training exercises to prepare for his ‘expedition’!

This space ‘invasion’ is a colossal step and who better to kick it off than the world’s #1 DJ? Fans are expecting a special “A State Of Space” broadcast next year and they couldn’t be more pumped for it. Already at the pinnacle of his profession, the trance titan, who has played at Space in Ibiza several times, will soon take off to actual space.

According to Mixmag, the trip is costing the DJ a staggering $100,000 (64,000 pounds!)

Is there anything this Numero Uno cannot do?

We hope the aliens enjoy trance as much as we do with ASOT700!
