The best thing on the Internet, this week.

That’s exactly what happened to a few students of the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Germany. Their film ‘The Present’ has won over 50 awards already, and has landed the main creators jobs at Disney and Pixar!

‘The Present’ is based on a comic strip by Brazilian artist Fabio Coala Cavalcanti, and revolves around a kid who gets a puppy as a gift from his mom. He throws the puppy to the ground after seeing that it has only three legs, but the puppy playfully coaxes him to leave his video games alone and play ball with it. There’s more in the trailer; we’re not suckers for spoilers!

The movie has won awards at festivals like ITFS, Palm Springs, LA Shorts, Nashville Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival and several other film fests. It has been shown at over 180 film festivals already.
