1. Country Jam Wisconsin
Where: Eau Claire, WI
When: July 23 to 25

A week after Bon Iver brought in a great collection of music at Eau Claire with the premier Eaux Claires festival, the venue is back to hosting another high profile event, except this time, it is set to go the good ol’ country way with the Country Jame Wisconsin. Featuring country music stars like Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, Sash Hunt, The Dweebs, among many other notable names, this is the perfect getaway for the country music lover.

2. Underground Music Showcase
Where: Denver, CO
When: July 23 to 26

The absence of genuine underground talent at the average music festival will be copiously rewarded this weekend at Colorado, where a pool of underrated, undiscovered music genius will be unearthed at the Underground Music Showcase. So for the music lover that wishes to update his playlist with a bunch of niche, independent acts, this is a must-attend festival.

3. The Capitol Hill Block Party
Where: Seattle, WA
When: July 24 to 26

Touted as one of the biggest attractions at the ‘always-raining’ city of Seattle, the Capitol Hill Clock Party has numerous offerings, thereby promising a cohesive experience unlike any other. Brining together various forms of art, by transforming Seattle into a three day ‘cultural centre’ the festival makes use of resident art galleries, restaurants, local vendors and artists to give a true Seattle experience. This combined with brilliant musical acts like Jamie XX, Com Truise, Deafheaven, Ratatat, Toro y Moi and Unknown Mortal Orchestra to name a few, makes this event absolutely worth it.

5. Newport Folk Festival
Where: Newport, RI
When: July 24 to 26

The Newport Folk Festival has an impressive lineup of up and coming artists, of varied musical styles like Heartless Bastards, Courtney Barnett, First Aid Kit, Blake Mills, Iron & Wine, and The Decemberists to name a few. But this historical festival which claims to have introduced Bob Dylan continues to offer tickets at a meagre price of $15. How many festivals in America can claim brilliant lineups at that price?
