Festival and wedding goals like never before!

This year, EDC was about a lot more than the amazing headliners, pastie-clad revellers. This year, something magical took place in the little chapel constructed between the stages, where one of the festival’s first same-sex marriage was held this year. Chris and Skye, the grooms have been together since 2008 and were absolutely glowing with happiness. The wedding was followed by an EDM-inspired reception post-nuptials at the SMIRNOFF house a few tents away.

Jim Sias, Director of Influencer & Advocacy at SMIRNOFF, explained, “SMIRNOFF has long been a supporter of inclusivity and equality. Hosting one of the first ever legal same-sex weddings at EDC Las Vegas since the Supreme Court decision last year is something we are extremely proud of. We decided to take our commitment to inclusivity and the LGBTQ community a step further and live-stream the wedding and reception, so even folks who were unable to make it to the festival could witness the beautiful occasion.”

The couple were initially going to keep things very low-key, with no guests and a quick wedding. But soon organisers got in touch with them with plans about a bigger ceremony and the couple was more than happy to comply.
