2022 has already been a massive year for gaming so far. With the release of giant titles like Elden Ring and much-anticipated series installments on their way, this year is set to be another huge year for gaming.

Whether you want to learn how to play bingo and enjoy a few games, or you want the action and adventure of a brand new God of War or Harry Potter game, here are some of the biggest video games of 2022.

Ghostwire: Toyko

This first-person action-adventure puts players in the role of Akito, the game’s protagonist. Using a wide variety of physics and paranormal-based abilities, you have to rid Tokyo of the ghosts and demons that have taken over the city.

The game has incredible graphics and gameplay, with many reviewers saying it is “karate meets magic.” While the gameplay can be simple at times, Ghostwire is a must-play.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

The next installment in the Kirby series is finally here, and Forgotten Land is one of the best Kirby games ever. Our hero wakes up on a mysterious island and quickly discovers he must help rescue the Waddle Dees that have been kidnapped by the Beast Pack.

Forgotten Land is the first game in the main series that will be in 3D, and reviewers have agreed it is a must-play for any and all Kirby lovers.

God of War: Ragnarok

There are very few games that have as much hype surrounding them as God of War: Ragnarok. The next installment in the series sees Kratos thrust into his most important battle yet, a fight to stop the end of the world.

The story takes place three years after the events of the previous game, with Kratos not only having to stop the end of the world but dealing with the wrath of Freya and Thor.

Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy is an upcoming RPG-adventure game taking place a few decades before the time of Harry Potter. You play as a witch or wizard who attends Hogwarts and have to fight and defeat a brand new enemy.

You can learn spells, become good or evil, heal and train animals, and a plethora of other magical quests and activities. There is also a huge possibility of the game expanding to include even more well-known locations in the Wizarding World, including other magical schools.

Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights is an upcoming Batman-based game featuring the masked crusader’s sidekicks, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Red Hood. The story takes place in Gotham City, as it is plunged into chaos after the death of Batman.

While investigating what happened to Batman, the group comes across an ancient society known as the Court of Owls. They have to defend themselves against their deadly assassins, the Talons.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

While details are still very scarce, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are the new titles in the Pokemon series releasing later this year. The games will be open-world like previous titles, with both worlds looking like they are based somewhere in Europe, possibly Spain.

Details are still very scarce, but we do know there are new starters, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.

Stray is one of the more unique games releasing this year, with players taking on the role of a cat. You find yourself in a world that is controlled and filled with robots, machines, and viruses, and you have to find your way back to your family.

The game is played in a third-person perspective, and players must explore their surroundings and solve puzzles to progress the story. The game doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s already tipped to be one of the most artistic and exciting games we have seen in ages.

Lord of the Rings: Gollum

We are finally getting another game in the Lord of the Rings universe, and this time we will be following the mysterious creature, Gollum. While the game isn’t open world, you will explore several well-known cities and landmarks in Middle Earth.

Not much is known about the game just yet, but we know it will take place before the events of The Hobbit, during the time Gollum first acquired the One Ring. The game will also have a decision-making side based on Gollum’s two personalities.
