Croatia’s getting hit with a heavy dose of electronic, urban and underground music this August.

Nominated for the UK Festival Award for Best Overseas Festival , the Dimensions festival is Croatia’s premium underground electronic and urban music festival. Set in the stunning abandoned Roman fortress of the Fort Punta Christo in Pula, Croatia; the festival brings this ancient beauty of a a structure to life every year. After celebrating a rocking five year milestone last year, the Dimensions festival is geared up for a pumping sixth edition, all set to take place from the 30th of August to the 3rd of September.


The audience will be treated to the enigmatic charisma of headline performer, Grace Jones, who will he opening the concert on day one alongside Moderat, Yussef Kamaal and Moses Boyd. Not forgetting, 80 more names including Jeff Mills, Theo Parrish, Floating Points,Cymande, Nina Kravitz, Danny Krivit, Ata Kak, Hessle Audio, Levon Vincent and more. All of whom are set to take the crowd on a sonic exploration through the world of house, techno, soul, disco, jazz, dub, R&B and beyond.

Dimensions Festival brings the heat every year with a strong line-up of top artists performing in Pula’s amphitheater space in their opening concert. In fact, last year, Massive Attack played to a whopping 8,000 fans! With a headliner act such as Grace Jones who has been defining art and cultures for three decades, this year will be no different. Not to mention, Berlin super-group Moderat, comprised of Appartat & Modeselektor, plus Brownswood’s cosmic sound explorers Yussef Kamaal, and award winning drummer, composer and producer Moses Boyd, presenting his Solo X show.

Combining local talent with international stars, 2017’s edition will see founder of techno, Jeff Mills, making his debut at the event, king selector and Soundsignature head honcho, Theo Parrish, bringing the Chicago vibes, Berghain resident, Marcel Dettmann, returning with his signature beats, Floating Points giving a live show of his own productions and much much more!

Dimensions festival will even see 70’s funk band Cymande, playing the classics, plus multi-instrumentalist funk king Shuggie Otis, and perplexing Ghanian rapper Ata Kak. Approaching a more darker side, Nina Kravitz will bring some twisted experiments as well as fresh new breakout talent Helena Hauff who has earned herself a spot among top artists in the underground music scene with Ninja Tune and K7.  Bass and techno will get ample representation, thanks to artists like Dan Snaith aka Daphni, Joy Orbison and the Hessle Audio team (comprised of Ben UFO, Pangaea and Pearson Sound).


The Dimensions Festival is known for celebrating house and techno, at it’s highest level, thanks to it’s reputation for bringing the finest artists to the Adriatic every year. This time, loved selector and producer Levon Vincent will bring a statement range of deep, dusty house to the ancient fortress, whilst Ostgut Ton affiliate Tama Sumo and Uzuri boss Lakuti make up the ideal DJ relay team with a b2b set, then vinyl-lover and Chicago’s Sadar Bahar, Rush Hour’s Antal and London biggie Horse Meat Disco will join in, creating an epic experience for the audience. In addition to Binh and Nicky Siano,  Detroit’s Luke Hess, Dimensions favourite’s Sassy J, genre-explorer Josey Rebelle and Clone Records boss Serge as well as Resom will also perform.

Sushitech duo Paul St Hilaire & Rhauder, electronic adventurer Conforce and Amsterdam’s new kid on the block Interstellar Funk, with his raw and unique productions, will also light up the stage.

The festival will also feature a range of live shows from Hypercolour artist Gary Gritness, German electro duo Dopplereffekt, known soundtrack artist Alexander Robotnick, Modern Love’s Demdike Stare as well as the striking blues tone of Darker Than Wax’s Kerem Akdag and neo-soul legend Amp Fiddler and Ninja Tune poster boy Romare.

Composer and modular synth enthusiast Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith will play a rare festival set, whilst award winning drummer Moses Boyd takes percussion to new heights. Rapper jon wayne and soulful breaks from MNDSGN MNDSGN, plus dancehall styles from Equiknoxx; will also feature as part of Dimension Festivals sixth edition. DnB, jungle and dub comes from face of EXIT Record’s dBridge, Alix Perez, Metalheadz artist Randall and Doc Scott, Skeptical, Kid Drama and the all important Mungo’s Hi-Fi.

What’s great about this festival is it showcases jazz, funk and world music on the big stage in every single edition. This year is no different. South London crew Yussef Kamaal will bring us the dreamier side of jazz and funk at both the opening concert as well as the festival. the crowd will also be treated to world flavours and slick grooves, courtesy of Moko Shibata aka Powder as well as some refreshing South African pop, thanks to DJ Okapi. That’s not all! Worldwide FM’s Thris Tian and NTS’s Sofie will also bring us nostalgic and dusty blends of different sounds.

Touching Bass’s Andwot, Stamp The Wax’s Harri Pepper and Aaron L, Balamii’s Sam Lloyd plus sets from Onemind, Leo Leal, KAMMA, Bane, Mafalda, Donna Leake and Heels & Souls will also form part of the festival.

As an exclusive, the festival’s inhouse dj talent, Dimensions Soundsystem will be in full beast mode with a follow-up on a special Dimension record label to be released. What’s special about the Dimensions festival is its intimate atmosphere as well as its world class sound system.
