With the arrival of December, autumn depression gives way to cozy winter evenings. Everyone is making plans for the holidays, coming up with gifts and getting ready for Christmas. Everything around us is changing. We decorate houses and streets to bring a festive atmosphere in the air.

However, the final weeks of the year are quite intense for students. For the holidays to be fun and calm, you need to hand in all working projects on time. When there are only thoughts about the holidays in mind, it is difficult to concentrate and tune in to study.

When you’re not in the mood for working and want to end it all as soon as possible, there are options to facilitate this process. You can turn to other students for help or find paper help by WritePaper to spend time doing other things. These options provide an opportunity for you to spend time with friends before everyone goes home for the holidays.

How to Create a Christmas Mood

The main signal that the holidays are close is an irresistible desire to get together in the company of your friends while watching favorite Christmas films. The main traditional attributes of such an event:

  • cocoa or mulled wine;
  • tangerines;
  • popcorn;
  • gingerbread cookies;
  • warm blankets;
  • lit garland.

In such moments, the atmosphere is charged with kindness and cosiness. All problems seem trivial, and all disagreements disappear. There is nothing more comfortable than gathering close friends and family on cold winter evenings.

Home Alone (1990) and all parts of Harry Potter movies have become a classic choice from year to year, of course. It’s hard to imagine Christmas holidays without these films. They have become the main symbols of the holiday on par with Santa Claus or stockings filled with sweets. However, these are not the only films you can watch to feel the spirit of the holidays.

Selection of Movies

If you want to break the tradition or have already finished watching these films, we offer a selection of old and new films. They will definitely warm your hearts.

1. Elf (2003)

This movie is also one of the classics to make you feel festive. This is a truly naive story about Buddy, who grew up in the residence of Santa Claus with the elves. As an adult, he travels to New York in search of his own father, and finds family and love.

2. A Christmas Carol (2019)

Everyone knows this story. The 2019 adaptation is a series of three episodes that tells the story of Ebenezer Scrooge. The old niggard only loves money in this life. Christmas is torture for him as he doesn’t understand the point of having fun and wasting money on gifts. Until the spirit of his deceased friend, the same snob, appeared to him to warn how everything could end unless he changes his ways.

3. Love Hard (2021)

This year Netflix gifted us a wonderful and easy-going Christmas comedy. This story is about a girl who is looking for her love on a dating site, but on every first date something goes wrong. So, she writes about her experience in her column in the magazine.

One day she was lucky to meet an amazing guy. One catch, he lives in another city. This isn’t a problem for him as he invites her for Christmas. None of her friends believed that it’s a good idea. So, in an effort to prove to everyone that they are wrong, she decides to surprise him and goes to meet her dream guy.

4. The Holiday (2006)

If you have not watched this movie, you should include it in your playlist this year. This is a kind and romantic story about two completely different girls. Both were left with broken hearts on the eve of the holidays and firmly decided that they needed a change of scenery.

Having met on the Internet, they decide to change houses. One of them will go to sunny California, the other to snowy England. Where will this lead and will they find their happiness? Tune it to film to find how it can end.

5. Last Christmas (2019)

Emilia Clarke, the mother of dragons, has taken a role in an entirely new image in this relaxing film. Now she is an ordinary girl who often gets into trouble, and her loyal friend is a bottle of alcohol. Working as a Christmas elf doesn’t make her happy in any way. However, one meeting with a nice guy completely changes her life. But it’s not that simple.

6. Love Actually (2003)

Love is actually all around us! One of the most romantic and warmest films of all time. A light and kind plot with an amazing cast will tell you 9 love stories that are intertwined in a bizarre way. Cozy up under your blanket to watch this heartfelt motivational movie.

7. The Princess Switch (1,2,3)

Dear girls, if you really need something childishly naive and comedic, watch the trilogy about two girls switching places. One is an ordinary pastry chef, and the other is a real princess, but they look surprisingly similar. There are princes and knights here too. What would we do without them?

8. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

This masterpiece by Tim Burton needs to be watched on holidays. Jack Skeleton, the king of pumpkins and the city of Halloween, successfully rules all known monsters and supervises the thorough preparations for the holiday. But this time, the annual routine bored him, so he decided to search for something new.

So he finds the city of Christmas and makes many discoveries about himself. He gets the idea that this time Christmas will be organized by his city.

9. Krampus (2015)

There is also a Christmas movie option for horror fans. Krampus is a creature with horns and a goat’s head, which is the complete opposite of Santa. Unlike the second, he steals and punishes children who misbehaved.

10. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

How could we forget about the good old Grinch? Or not so good? This movie features Jim Carrey in one of his most famous roles. A funny comedy about a green creature who hates Christmas has won the hearts of people forever. If you really love this movie, you can watch the 2018 animated adaptation of the story.
