As Djakarta Warehouse Project inches closer, The Sherp picks the best of the lineup on each day of the festival – artists you definitely shouldn’t miss!

Djakarta Warehouse Project is absolutely killing it with what could possibly be the lineup of the year. Taking on the role ofΒ South-East Asia’s largest dance music festival, D.W.P returns for the 7th year onΒ December 11-12, 2015. It features a collection of artists that would make your eyes pop out of your head, and to avoid the confusion, we’ve put together 10 of best acts slated to perform at the festival this weekend.

 

Day 1

1. Andrew Rayel

BornΒ Andrei RaΘ›Δƒ, this Moldovan DJ and producer began his electronic music career at the age of 17, after having already produced songs by the time he was 13! Signed by Armin van Buuren to his label Armada, Rayel shot to success after his popular single, “Aether”.Β He’s now made it big in the Trance and Big Room Trance world, and his unique tracks are mixed and played by a number ofΒ  influential DJs and producers around the world, including Armin van Buuren, TiΓ«sto and a number of others!

 

2. Cashmere Cat

Norwegian producer, DJ and turntablist Cashmere Cat is definitely an act you should not miss. He entered the electronic dance music scene with remixes and edits of songs by artists likeΒ Lana Del Rey, 2 Chainz and Jeremih.Β Cashmere Cat’s take on R&B, futuristic hip-hop and bass music took the form of his EP Mirror Maru, and his second Wedding Bells EP. He’s worked with artists likeΒ Jeremih, Miguel and Wiz Khalifa and Ariana Grande, and has performedΒ live across the world and quite a few major festivals.

 

3. Jack Ü

Jack Ü has been making waves since its very inception. This EDM act, including Mad Decent founder Diplo and OWSLA founder Skrillex, has been extremely successful, releasing their debut albumΒ Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü on 27 February 2015. They’ve performed together at festivals like Ultra Music and even Burning Man!Β Their collaborative efforts have also been massive, including”Where Are Ü Now” featuring Justin Bieber, “Mind” featuring Kai, “Don’t Do Drugs Just Take Some Jack Ü” and a remixed version of “Take U There” featuring Missy Elliott.

 

4. Jamie Jones

Exploring “aΒ warmer, more melodic, deeper side of techno”, Jamie Jones is widely regarded as the bringer of new sound in house. His revolutionary, multi-genre sound is a major reason for his success, along with the fact that it’s also easily accessible. HisΒ first Hot Natured single, β€œBenediction,” reached the top 40 in the UK in 2013 and his debut album “Different Sides Of The Sun”Β sold strong six months after its release. He’s performed at major festivals likeΒ Glastonbury, Timewarp, and Burning Man, as well as highly esteemed clubs like Warung, Fabric, and Womb.

 

5. Oliver Heldens

Oliver Heldens is a Dutch electronic music producer, who’s probably best known for his chart-topping hit β€œGecko”, featuring Becky Hill. His attention-grabbing style has been called everything from future house to big room house and bass house. It was this single that caught the attention ofΒ TiΓ«sto in 2013, and he went on to sign Heldens to his label. Another single β€œKoala”, went on to become the second most internet-searched song at Amsterdam Dance Event. He’s since performed at a number of huge electronic music festivals.

 

Day 2

1. DJ Snake

Fresh off his recent chart-busting release with Major Lazer, “Lean On”, the Parisian behind a number of other electronic hits over the past few years is another performanceΒ you definitely need to see at D.W.P. Having also won a Billboard award for his widely acclaimed and super popularΒ club number “Turn Down For What”, this Grammy-nominated artist’s rap and hip hop-infused style of electronic music is definitely a super-fun live act.

 

2. Duke Dumont

Adam George Dyment, better known by his stage name Duke Dumont, is an English DJ and deep house producer. He’s produced some of the best known anthems of 2014, likeΒ the singles “Need U (100%)”, “I Got U” and “Won’t Look Back”, which both reached number 1 and 2 in the UK Singles Chart. He owns aΒ record label called BlasΓ© Boys Club, and has remixed a number of songs, including several which have charted in the United Kingdom. In 2014, “Need U (100%)” was nominated for Best Dance Recording for the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.

 

3. Galantis

Galantis is a Swedish electronic music production and songwriting duo consisting of Christian “Bloodshy” Karlsson from Miike Snow, and Linus EklΓΆw aka Style of Eye. They are best known for their 2014 hit single “Runaway (U & I)”. They make quite a brilliant duo – Grammy-winningΒ Karlsson has co-written and co-produced tracks for artists such as Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Kylie Minogue and Madonna, andΒ Linus EklΓΆw (established electronic dance music producer Style of Eye), co-wrote and produced Icona Pop’s international number one hit “I Love It” ft. Charli XCX.

 

4. Kaskade

American DJ and record producer Ryan Raddon is better known by his stage name Kaskade. Β He shot to popularity during the revival of American progressive house around 2008-2009. With music that’s been called electro-house, deep house and EDM, Kaskade made a mark in the world of electronic music with his debut album, You It’s Me. His true rise to popularity was in 2010-2012, when he released chart topping singles and performed at top slots in festivals like Ultra Music and Coachella.

 

5. Porter Robinson

Porter Weston Robinson is an American electronic music producer and DJ from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Robinson has registered multiple number one singles across different electronic genres. His debut album, Worlds, was released on August 12, 2014. On March 20, 2015, he was named MTVu Artist of the Year. An interesting aspect of his music is that he’s a huge fan of anime and manga, and incorporates these Japanese elements into his music. Achieving huge success at a young age, he’s widely regarded as one of America’s best young music producers.
