The Udaipur World Music Festival pegged to be “a dynamic and unmatched festival in all its facets” will be hosted by the Lake City this February.

In its inaugural year, the Udaipur World Music Festival promises to showcase a phenomenal line up of world renowned artistes and unparalleled collaborative acts. Established musicians of 12 different countries such as Spain, France, Portugal, Venezuela, Macedonia & Japan would perform for the first time in India over a 2 day period (February 13-14). Performances involving unique collaborative acts from over 150 Indian and International artists are to be expected.

Each genre will feature a specially designed venue at multiple locations across the city. The festival is presented by Hindustan Zinc in association with Wonder Cement and Rajasthan Tourism and conceptualised and produced by cultural organisation SEHER.

Though a complete lineup is yet to be announced, according to a Business Standard report, “One of the most popular Fado singers from Portugal, Carminho will be performing for the first time in India at the event. French composer Mathias Duplessy will also perform at the event, where he will collaborate with Rajasthani vocalist Mukhtiyar Ali from the semi-nomadic community called Mirasi from the Thar Desert. The evening will come alive with instrumental Spanish Flamenco guitar and dance performance and the unique African beat music by Dobet Gnahore, a Grammy award winner from the Ivory Coast.”
