Here’s introducing you to the annual Folsom Street Fair, an interesting festival that takes place every September dedicated to the kinky world Bondage.

(Disclaimer : This is not for the faint-hearted)

The Folsom Street Fair is nothing like you’ve ever heard or seen before, we can assure you that. The fair takes place in San Francisco during its Leather Pride Week, and it’s a fetish event of all things related to leather, wips and bondage costumes. Consequently, the festival attracts a large LGBT population to participate and experience the iconic fair.

Everything related to BDSM culture is either demonstrated or showcased here, with people walking around in costumes that can only be termed as ‘out there’. What’s really interesting though, is how the event is actually a non-profit charity through its ticket sales and countless (200) exhibitor booths showcasing fetish gear and toys.

At Folsom you can also pay to get spanked, with that money being donated to fundraising schemes or charity.

Kink and leather subcultures are the core of the event. You’re ‘bound’ to see animal role-play, cat woman-esque leather suits and a lot of military uniforms around.

As the gay capital of America, it is only fitting that California is at the forefront of this event. Every year around 400,000 fetish enthusiasts descend upon these two streets of San Francisco to live out their erotic fantasies, as twisted as they maybe. Plus, this is one festival you can attend butt-naked.

And of course, the music to keep everyone going. At FolsomΒ you will find a massive live stage with top-name indie, electronic and alternative acts and two huge dance areas spinning underground EDM.

A festival for your bucket list, maybe?
