It has been 4 years since Kendrick Lamar dropped a major project. DAMN was a monumental success for Kendrick, though some might say it was his weakest project, he still got a damn Pulitzer Prize for it. The previous projects K-dot dropped were great as well, almost every album of his has made headlines and been well received by critics.
The only legitimate competitor to Kendrick is J Cole and Drake. Though Drake is in a totally different league than these two hip-hop masterminds, his success is also astronomical.
With Cole already dropping his album this year, and a new Drake project (Certified Lover Boy) possibly in the works, should we expect a project from Kendrick as well?

Last month the TDE twitter handle posted this.
This caused a lot of speculation; as TDE has a lot of rappers on it, the chances it is a K-dot project are slim. But the fuel to the flame was the leaked images of Kendrick shooting music videos at two different sites!
Now if the TDE tweet is anything to go by, we might be getting a new Kendrick album this July! If this happens, this year in hip-hop will be remembered for years to come a the year when all the G.O.A.Ts dropped their music, and we hope this happens for real.
