Asia’s largest music festival Sunburn may establish its new base in Mumbai or Pune.

The dance music festival which was till last year used to take place in Goa was recently put on hold for its 2016 edition by the Goan government due to the hefty amount of tourists coming between December 15 and January 15.

A recent report by The Times Of India stated that  Maharashtra might be the newest locale to organize the dance music festival – “Maharashtra is ready to offer its organiser, Precept Live, all required clearances in the quickest possible time as part of its ‘ease of business’ policy.”

Tourism secretary Valsa Nair Singh spoke to The Times of India saying that the state was arranging to set up an event and exhibition board that would try and lobby to get events and conventions to Maharashtra as ‘convention tourism’ is a gigantic part of the sector. “We are soon going to hold the first such convention,” she said.

Percept Live tweeted yesterday which indicated a possible official announcement on the skyline. Check out the tweet below and stay tuned for more!
