Tomorrowland, arguably the largest electronic music festival brand in the world, will not be making a debut run in India next year. As reported by the Sherp earlier, Universal MusicΒ and Tomorrowland were planning to bring it down, but an interview conducted by Bangalore Mirror with the festival’s spokesperson has made it pretty clear that the Belgian outing is not in talks with anybody from India.

The interview explains how the talks may have been between Indian authorities and SFX (The company they partner with to organize TomorrowWorld in the USA), but there has been no communication from the Tomorrowland team. On being asked by the Bangalore Mirror if they were approached by the Goan government to conduct the festival, Debby went on to say;

‘ Like I’ve mentioned, that is not true. We organise TomorrowWorld US together with SFX, maybe SFX has plans to do an event, but Tomorrowland is NOT coming to India.’Β

Disappointing news for Indian fans, but finally the rumours can be buried once and for all.Β Having debuted in 2005, Tomorrowland has out grown many electronic festivals to become the world’s most attended electronic music gathering.
