In what we call a praise-worthy move, AAMISH Underground, who is India’s first differently-abled DJ, will be opening Time Out 72 in Vagator, Goa.

Between 27th to 29th this December, gear up as Time Out 72 is all set to host multi-platinum recording artist Jason Derulo and World No. 1 DJ, Martin Garrix as it marks its debut in Vagator, Goa. Apart from a spectacular lineup of artists, Time Out 72, in a rather noteworthy development, has roped in Varun Khullar aka AAMISH Underground, who is India’s first and the world’s second, differently-abled DJ to open the music festival.

AAMISH Underground, a 26-year-old Delhi-based DJ, met with a fatal road accident in Manali back in 2014. After getting himself certified as an Electronic Music DJ/Producer from ILM Academy, Gurgaon and Point Blank Music School, London, AAMISH Underground went on to living his dream as he became a resident DJ at the popular nightclub Kitty Su. Taking inspiration from Sir Paul Johnson, a wheelchair-bound American DJ,  AAMISH Underground has broken all stereotypes by being one of the few DJs who play on a wheelchair.

Vaishal Shah, Founder, Time Out 72 in an interaction said, “Our festival operates from the core belief of purpose and passion and we are very happy to welcome Varun on board. We will ensure that he will get the same respect as other DJs and will play in front of an audience that won’t judge him basis his disability but on the basis of his expertise.”

AAMISH Underground who is wheelchair-bound from a spinal cord injury states, “Deejaying is the only passion I live for. This is the first time I’m performing at a music festival and I’m very happy that finally there is a music festival in the country unlike other commercial players, who is considering people like me instead of chasing only established talent.”

While the full lineup is not out as yet, the early bird tickets are available here. Also, check out Timeout72 Hours‘ Facebook page here for more news and updates.
