Who knew that a humble porch could double up as a music festival venue. But if the success of a music experiment conducted in New York is anything to go by, it totally can. Porchfest! is an annual music festival that is held on the porches of the houses in theΒ Fall Creek and Northside neighbourhoods of Ithaca, New York. This year’s edition will be held on Sunday, September 14.
The festival not only brings music closer to people that are least likely to make a plan to attend a concert — the elderly and preteens — but also gives platform to young and old talented artistes to showcase their prowess.
This year’s edition will featureΒ The 14 Strings!,Β The 18 Strings of Luv,Β abandon my head andΒ Aidan OβBrien, among many others.
