The brand new Panorama festival in the NYC has dropped its lineup could very well rival the Gov Ball’s.
After many conflicting reports whether the Panorama : Music, Art, Technology Festival would materialize or not, organizers have finally dropped a massive lineup. The festival has got their headliner slots filled with big names like Arcade Fire, Kendrick Lamar and LCD Soundsystem. Besides them, the three day festival (July 22 to 24) will feature acts like Alabama Shakes, Major Lazer, The National, Sia and A$AP Rocky among others. With such a star studded lineup, the Governor’s Ball will get a serious run for its money as both festivals are being held less than two months apart of each other at the same location.
Goldenvoice, the producers of Coachella, made headlines when they announced their plans to expand with the new Panorama festival to Randall’s Island, NYC. It was met with a lot of resistance by the already established local Governor’s Ball as they were scheduled just weeks apart, causing worries that the much larger Goldenvoice backed festival would draw away their crowd. It seems though that Goldenvoice has now come to some understanding allowing them to pull off the “East Coast Coachella.”
What remains to be seen is which of the two festivals emerges as the crowd favourite. What do you think? Let us know!
