Here’s a look back at India’s greatest travelling beach festival; the awesomeness that was Corona Sunsets.

Corona Sunsets is a global music festival series that is inspired by the magical hour of sunset. It has been conceptualized to provide a festival experience that inspires people around the world to unplug, unite and celebrate the energy and spirit of the sunset. Programmed in association with Submerge, some of the world’s most renowned electronic music innovators are part of this multi-city festival travelling across Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore and finally Pune for a grand closure. Here’s an overview of the happiness Corona Sunsets spread across the four cities.

 

1. The first edition. – Delhi, May 10

The first edition of Corona Sunsets kicked off in Delhi at the Le Meridian with Yousef leading a spectacular lineup. Other artists featured on the roster were homegrown electronic mavens such as Ash Roy, Audiophobia, Doktor Daniel, Hoax and Shift. It was a a splendid debut for 2015 that brought together numerous dance music enthusiasts. Take a look at photographs from the event below.

2. The sun sets at Bluefrog. – Pune, May 24

After a successful debut in Delhi featuring Yousef, Corona Sunsets marched on to Pune with their incredible agenda on May 24. The second edition of Sunsets brought Sam Paganini, the Italian DJ/producer to town. Paganini’s music is essentially groovy, bordering on dark techno, and made for an excellent party headliner. Along with Audio Glitch, Bullseye, Tuhin Mehta and Color Ray, Pune’s edition of Corona Sunsets made for a wholesome sundowner.

3. B’lore’s enthusiasm for dance music. – Bangalore, June 14

For its third edition, Fur Coats lit up Bangalore for a spectacular night.  The duo have been a recurring name in the world of deep house, and Bangalore folk definitely had something special in store for them. They were be supported by Nikhil Chinapa, Rohit Barker, Orbs & Zen and Blank at the Marriott on June 14.

4. Techno hits Mumbai like a storm. – Mumbai, June 28

After having witnessed the first wave of monsoon with the first few editions, Mumbai was next in line to be exposed to a dazzling sundown showcase as the Corona Sunsets made their way to the city in June. Accompanied them by Arsh, Blurry Slur, Browncoat (Nawed Khan) and one very special Italian – Aniello Federico, aka Hollen. The Italian techno wizard took the city by the storm and celebrated yet another successful edition of the festival with the locals of Mumbai.

5. Corona’s South Indian takeover continues with Hyderabad. – Hyderabad, August 9

French tech house maestro Darlyn Vlys performed at the Novotel Conventon Center in Hyderabad with Nikhil Chinapa, and Nethra providing the rest of the musical ammunition. Darlyn Vlys has created his own style of sensual and captivating tech house, tinged with jazzy influences and latin percussions – the kind of music that went perfectly with the vibe of a sundown party like the Corona Sunsets. It’s safe to say that Hyderabad had a brilliant evening.

6. Pune’s sophore edition. – Pune, October 11

After an uber-positive tunrout during its first edition, Corona decided to make the next edition even bigger and better, with artists such as Riki Inocente, Ash Roy, Browncoat, Calm Chor and Quistek. Ricki Inocente brought all of his underground house brilliance all the way from London for the second edition of Corona Sunsets in Pune.

7. Delhi’s ultimate sundowner. – Delhi, November 22

The experience at Corona Sunsets has been handpicked to encompass the perfect day under the sun. World-renowned DJs Marco Bailey and Mambo Brothers travelled across the globe to deliver the ultimate sound of the beach. BLaNK, Audiphobia, and Doktor Daniel, along with Marco Baily and Mambo Brothers came together for the perfect Sunday sundowner at The Nest, Delhi.
