Snoop Dogg has announced that he officially acquired Death Row Records, the label that launched his career in the ’90s. Now, just before his performance at the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday, Snoop has released his new album Bacc on Death Row.

His latest album since Algorithm last October, BODR features T.I., Sleepy Brown, The Game, DaBaby, Nas and a posthumous appearance from Nate Dogg.

Snoop also released BODR in partnership with NFT blockchain Gala Games. According to Afrotech, on Wednesday, the album was released as a Stash Box of NFTs priced at $5,000. The Stash Box includes one of 17 track NFTs of BODR while collects can receive offers like concerts for NFT holders, limited-edition merchandise and an exclusive party at Snoop’s LA home.

“If anything is constant, it’s that the music industry will always be changing,” said Snoop Dogg in the press release for BODR. “Blockchain tech has the power to change everything again and tip the table in favour of the artists and the fans, and we’re going to be right at the front of the pack with this Gala Music deal.”

During Snoop’s Death Row Records announcement this week, it was shared that  Snoop had agreed to the label deal with MNRK Music Group, which is owned by private equity fund Blackstone.  To run his victory lap, on Sunday, Snoop will be at headliner along with Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem during the Super Bowl Halftime performance.
