American electronic virtuoso Morgan Page recently embarked on an India Tour. Here is The Sherp’s take on his Mumbai gig.

The Sherp arrived at Royalty by 11 hoping to take advantage of the ‘early bird gets some space’ theory but he was in for a surprise. The entrance of the popular suburban club was packed with people trying their best to get in, and as soon as possible because the music that was leaking out of doors was truly inviting. The moment we walked in, we could feel an unusual surge of energy pulsating through the club as ravers punched the air to Priyanjanas’ amazing opening set that was filled with all the current sensational hits and some outstanding remixes. Beat after beat her perfectly laid-out set got us all mentally and physical ready for the star of the evening – Morgan Page.

Roughly about an hour or so of intense raging later Mr. Page took to the stage and was greeted by the overpowering screams of a highly welcoming and fairly ‘happy’ audience. As he dropped his first track, the crowd, who had now filled up most of the club, went into a mad frenzy (that only kept getting crazier with each track), jumping and grooving all over the place. To get a better idea of the sounds of the evening here are some of the better tracks from the set:

If I Lose Myself – One Republic (Alesso Remix)

Your Love – Morgan Page feat. The Outfield

I Could Be The One – Avicii

Alive – Empire Of The Sun (Zedd Remix)

Reload – Sebastian Ingrosso feat. John Martin

Carry Me – Morgan Page feat. Nadia Ali

Nexus – Dr. Kucho

Alive vs. Like Home – Krewella vs. Nervo

In The Air – Morgan Page, Sultan & Ned Shepard & BT (Hardwell Remix)

Locked Out Of Heaven – Bruno Mars (Sultan & Ned Sheperd Remix)

Eat Sleep Rave Repeat – Fatboy Slim & Riva Starr

Paradise – Coldplay (Tiesto Remix)

Black Thong – Michael Woods & Chris Lake

Atmosphere – Kaskade

Animals – Martin Garrix

Rhythm Is A Dancer – Snap (Remix)

Rasputin – Hard Rock Sofa

City Of Dreams – Alesso

Summertime Sadness – Lana Del Rey (Cedric Gervais Remix)

Somewhere around 2 A.M. Morgan Pages’ hit-filled, energy-charged set came to an end, much to the dismay of the audience. But before ‘post gig depression’ could kick in, Priyanjana got back on the decks, churning out another great set which started off with ‘Lost Stories‘ latest hit How You Like Me Now‘, keeping us in the groove all the way into the wee hours of the night.

It was a truly ’10 on 10′ evening. The guys at Submerge have taken the game to a whole new level, and The Sherp (and everyone else in the club, we are sure) salutes you’ll for that.

The Sherp also had a conversation with Morgan Page before the gig. You can read all about it here.
