Unsound Festival, Poland was recently faced with quite a dilemma when they were accused of promoting Satanism.

The festival began on Sunday, and goes on till October 18. Less than 2 days before the festival kicked off, the two churches that were originally slated to host performances opted out. The festival organisers had been painted as Satanists by the churches, and the preposterous accusation was met with indignation by Unsound.

The grounds on which the accusation were made are unclear. One of the artists scheduled to perform,Β David Tibet, the founder and leader of Current 93, even sent a statement explaining his faith as a Christian. But the lack of logical reasoning behind the accusations has made the festival believe there was malice behind it.

β€œThese accusations, initially made in a letter to St Catherine’s Church, are completely unfounded, unreasonable, and slanderous,” saysΒ Unsound in a statement. β€œWe of course categorically deny that Satanism is now or has ever been promoted at our festival. The goal of the Unsound festival has always been bringing artists and audiences together in the promotion of art and culture.”
